>> Wearing: a facial mask that makes my skin look like I'm some sort of sci-fi creature (Ganger, anyone?) and feels like Elmer's glue. I don't know that it'll do anything but it's going to be fun peeling it off.
>> Reading: "Elizabeth The Queen: The Life of a Modern Monarch" by Sally Bedell Smith. This is a fairly good biography of Queen Elizabeth II. So far I've learned that the Queen does not sweat (not because she's royal; she actually can't sweat, a condition known as anhidrosis); that both Elizabeth I and Elizabeth II became queen at age 25 when they were in close proximity to trees; and the plans for the state funeral of Winston Churchill, drawn up nine years before his death, were called "Operation Hope Not" (a fact which strikes me as tremendously funny). At 537 pages for the main body of the text, this is not a light read, but if you have any interest in the Queen of England you should definitely tackle it.
>> Watching: I've never seen it before(!) but I've recently gotten hooked on "Gilmore Girls". I'm almost done with season 1.
>> Listening to: I've been on a big band kick lately. I'm going to scour the thrift stores and antique malls for some records. I hate to sound like a hipster but it really does sound better on vinyl. In the meantime, Pandora's awesome. I haven't used Pandora in years and it has definitely improved!
>> Awaiting: new job means I'm finally getting paychecks again and I went a little online shopping crazy. I ordered four(!) shirts from teefury.com (look in the archives - I ordered "The Time Job" and "100% Sci-Fi" along with two grab bag shirts), some washi tape, a tripod, and a camera strap. I can't wait to get all of it! But the best part is that my birthday is a month from now, and my family is putting money towards my iPad fund! Oh shiny Apple toy, I will have you soon...
>> Trying: Dana over at Wonder Forest has just put out a Blogger app for iDevices called Blog Go. I'm actually using this as a trial post to try it out. I'm definitely noticing a few things that could be fixed, but it's already way better than the official Blogger app.
Hi, I'm a new follower and button swapper :) I've never watched Gilmore Girls before either although I've heard fabulous things about it. How do you like it so far?

Thanks for following Ami! So far I love it, but since I've been a lifelong overachiever, Rory is a character that speaks to me, haha. I finished season 1 the other day and will probably watch another episode in the next few minutes, mainly because I have the theme song stuck in my head!
DeleteKatie Jon has watched every single episode and loves it. But if you mention it to him, he will swear he only watched it because of Shani.
ReplyDeletePS yayyy birthday! Lmk what your fund looks like...I will either put money in or buy you a neat sleeve or something. I really owe you lots cause you have consistently been wayyy better about my birthday than I have about yours.
